Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how AKX Investments Ι.Κ.Ε. ("we", "TaxiBridge") handles personal data when you use TaxiBridge, a WhatsApp live-translation service for businesses, and this website.

Who we are

The data controller is AKX Investments Ι.Κ.Ε., registered office Αρέως 64, Βούλα 16673, G.E.MI. no. 193871401000, ΑΦΜ (tax ID) 803288650.

Contact: support@taxibridge.app, +30 698 693 0984.

TaxiBridge is a bridge, not an archive

TaxiBridge passes messages between people who speak different languages. We designed it to keep as little data as possible.

  • Message text is processed only to translate and deliver it. We do not store message text.
  • Phone numbers are not kept in readable form. We store a keyed hash (HMAC-SHA256) so we can recognise a returning conversation. A hash of this kind is still pseudonymous personal data, and we treat it as such.
  • A session holds only a language code and a conversation state (for example, waiting for a reply).
  • We do not build profiles, and we do not sell personal data.

WhatsApp and Meta

TaxiBridge uses only the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) provided by Meta. Messages travel through Meta’s infrastructure and are subject to Meta’s own terms and privacy notices. We receive from Meta the sender’s phone number and the message content needed to deliver the translation.

Automated translation and AI

Translations are produced automatically by artificial-intelligence and machine-translation systems. No person reads your messages as part of normal operation. Automated translation can be wrong, so do not rely on it alone for safety-critical, legal or financial decisions.

AI translation providers (sub-processors). To translate text, voice messages and calls, TaxiBridge sends the content of each message, in real time, to one of these AI providers, acting as our processors: OpenAI Ireland Ltd (OpenAI) and Google Cloud EMEA Ltd (Google Cloud Vertex AI / Gemini). Under their business API terms, these providers do not use the content to train their models. The content is used only to produce the translation, and TaxiBridge does not store your messages or voice. We use EU processing locations where the provider offers them. Where data may be processed outside the EEA, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Data processing agreements with both providers are being finalised. This list will be updated if our sub-processors change.

Why we process data, and on what legal basis

  • To provide the translation service you or your business asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), performance of a contract).
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix faults (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interests).
  • To meet legal obligations such as accounting and tax rules (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Who receives data

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Cloud API) for message delivery.
  • Our hosting provider, for running the service and this website.
  • Our AI translation providers: OpenAI Ireland Ltd and Google Cloud EMEA Ltd, for the translation itself.
  • Public authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep data

Message text is not retained after it has been translated and delivered. Session data is kept only while a conversation is active and is then deleted. Hashed identifiers and records required by law are kept only as long as necessary. Exact retention periods are to be confirmed in the legal review.

This website

This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers or fonts. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and you may object to processing, by writing to support@taxibridge.app. Because we store a keyed hash and not your number, we may need you to message us from the number concerned to verify a request.

You may lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or with the authority in your own country.

Changes to this policy

We will publish changes on this page and update the date at the top.
